Iron Chef Dad Susur Lee Children Also Followed Into His Footsteps

While his sons were growing up, the iron chef couldn’t spend more time with them due to his work nature but whenever he got a chance he would dedicate his full time towards them.

One of the dishes that  Lee loved to cook for his boys when they were young was a chicken dish called Daddy’s Best Chicken and the secret ingredient of the dish is catsup. The kids love the secret ingredient.

All three boys love Chinese and Korean Food and while growing up they have been surrounded by Asian spices.

Levi Is The Oldest Son Of The Iron Chef

Levi Bent Lee came into this world in the year 1989 and he is 33 years old. He celebrates his birthday on November 15 and his birth sign is Scorpio.

At the age of 22, the eldest Bent-Lee opened his first restaurant known as Bent with the help of his father in the kitchen. Apart from his restaurant business Levi is also a YouTuber and has his own channel with 166k subscribers.

Bent-Lee is a talented musical artist who has released two albums. The music videos of his songs are uploaded to his YouTube channel. The musician was also a national-level tennis player. He ranked number one in Ontario during his under-18 year. 

Levi is also seen promoting the clothing brand Trinity Label.

Kai Bent Lee Is A Restaurant Owner

According to Kai’s LinkedIn profile, he is the proprietor of Lee Restaurant along with his older brother. The middle child of the family not only walked in his father’s footsteps but also in his mother’s as well since he created a name for himself in fashion.

His Instagram features his stylish fashion and his clothing line Strawberry Brand. He is also a YouTube star and has a self-titled channel with 149k subscribers where he uploads vlogs related to travel, food, and fashion.

Kai received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in International Business.

He is two years younger than Levi; he was born in the year 1991. He is 31 years old and he celebrates his birth anniversary on October 18.

Jet Is The Baby Of The Family

Jet Bent Lee was born in the year 1991 and he is 25 years old. His birth anniversary falls on January 31 and his birth sign is Aquarius. Bent-Lee’s older brothers are protective of him and love him immensely.

Jet is widely popular in TikTok where he has an impressive 5.4M followers. He mostly shares videos with his father on the platform; the content of the videos is mainly related to food.

He is seen sharing vlogs on his YouTube channel which has 296k subscribers and the videos have over 100k views. As per his Instagram posts, he is also seen promoting the clothing brand Mewt.

According to his social accounts, Jet is in a romantic relationship with a girl named Sydnee Zora.

Susur Lee wife Brenda Bent is an interior designer and co-owner of Bent Gable Design. Brenda co-owns the company with her friend Karen Gable.

As an interior designer, she has worked with several well-known restaurants by top chefs in Toronto, Canada. Brenda has designed her husband’s restaurants like Kid Lee, Luckee, and Bent.

She and her business partner Karen have designed the restaurants like Rosalinda, The Thompson Hotel Diner, and Pizzeria Libretto’s Ossington Avenue Flagship location.

Bent Gable Design has also designed residential interiors for Churchill Residence, Rosedale Residence, and Trinity Bellwoods Residence. 

Before starting her interior design career, Brenda and her friend Gable were well-known for their clothing brand Bent Boys and Zapata. They were an iconic fashion duo during the mid-1980s. They have also worked with famous models such as Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington.

The fashion veterans returned to the clothing business with the brand Bentgablenits. Bent and Gable co-own the brand with Angelo Nitsopoulos.

Brenda And Her Husband Susur Met At A Restaurant

The pair first met each other in 1983 at the Peter Pan restaurant in Toronto. Brenda worked as a waitress and her lover Susur was the chef of the restaurant. 

When Bent saw Lee for the first she thought he was extremely handsome and the chef found her cute. The couple went skating at Harbourfront for their first date and Lee made an excuse to hold her hands so that she wouldn’t fall down the ice.

After a few dates, the couple began their romantic relationship. They dated for over seven years before they tied the knot in the year 1991. The couple didn’t have a traditional wedding ceremony.

They exchanged their vows at City Hall and later hosted a small party at Lee’s restaurant.

Susur Lee first wife Marilou Covey lost her life as a passenger on Korean Airlines Flight 007 which was shot down by a Soviet jet fighter.

Covey and Susur tied the knot in 1978 and were married for five years before the tragic incident. The pair met each other in Hong Kong when Covey was a teacher. Marilou was originally from Tillsonburg, Ontario.

In later years Covey went back to Ontario and Susur also decided to move to Canada so that he could be with his lover. Marilou studied for her Ph.D. while Lee worked in the kitchen. 

The pair had decided to move back to Hong Kong but sadly they could not be together as Marilou took her last breath in 1983.

The celebrity chef’s father was an accountant by profession but he had a passion for food. So, the iron chef’s dad taught him to eat and taste food.

According to Lee’s Instagram post, his father used to take him to try new dishes. He also mentioned that his father used to take him to eat dim sum and used to talk about its taste. The best piece of advice he got from his dad was to try new things and be playful at times. 

During an interview, the celebrity chef revealed that his mother was a terrible cook. His mother worked a lot and didn’t have time to cook so mainly made one-pot meals most of the time.

Lee grew up in Hong Kong with her five siblings and he was the youngest in his family.
